Top 4 Caribbean Countries You Need to Visit at Least Once

If I can ever speak to God and complain about something, I will ask Him why He has blessed Caribbean countries with so much beauty. Well, this seems to be a rare possibility in this life, and I don’t have the patience to get an answer to this question after my death. So, I decided to take things into my own hands and planned a visit to almost all of the major Caribbean countries. And now, here I am answering my own question for all the people who, just like me, also wonder why they should visit Caribbean countries at least once in their lives.

The 4 Best Caribbean Countries That You Must Explore

  1. Dominican Republic

Expert tourists might not agree with me, but this one is my personal favorite. The Dominican Republic holidays were the best and most entertaining in all of the Caribbean countries.

Let me start with the best feature of this country: the beaches. Around 1500 kilometers of the country’s coastline is made up of beautiful and stunning beaches. The scenes here are unique and appear out of this world. I am pretty sure that you will not find such beaches anywhere in Europe or North America. Plus, the beach season continues year-round. As the climate is tropical and the country is under the influence of trade winds, the heat doesn’t bother you too much and you don’t have to worry about the seasonality like the Asian countries.

As you plan your stay in this piece of heaven, you will find hotels catering to every type of tourist including luxury seekers and backpackers. Families and honeymooners can also find a purpose-built room with the best of amenities to make their stay more amazing and convenient.

I don’t think that I need to mention food and coffee as they are the best in the entire Caribbean region. The history of this island is also amazing and quite attractive for the nerdy types. This is just a glimpse of what this beautiful country is like. You can only witness the real picture when you visit it.

  1. Barbados

The second-best Caribbean country as per my experience is Barbados. And just like the Dominican Republic, there are plenty of reasons to visit this island as well.

I will start with the beaches. Don’t get bored with seeing me mentioning beaches in all countries, as they specifically deserve a mention. All of the Caribbean countries have beaches that are worth your time and money. If you are looking for calm waters for some family fun, then the west coast is the place you need to go. For a more vivid experience and surfing sessions, head to the south.

Most of the island is made from limestone hills and the locals have built amazing structures on top of them. The plantation houses, museums, botanical gardens and sugar cane fields are all a sight to behold. Bridgetown, the country’s capital is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre and has a lot to offer.

The water activities are also excellent in this small country. You can go snorkeling or diving if you like to get close to marine life. Those who like to stay a bit away, submarine tours are also available.

As my last argument in favor of Barbados, rum tours are a must. The country is home to some of the best rum in the world.

  1. Saint Lucia

The outlook of Saint Lucia is quite similar to the other Caribbean countries but its vibes are completely different when you get close to it.

The beaches, just like most of the other countries, are excellent for all types of tourists but there are many other things too. For example, the majestic Pitons. If you don’t visit them, I am sorry, your visit to Saint Lucia is not complete and you have wasted all your money. These two hills (Gros Piton and Petit Piton) are the most iconic Caribbean hills and their beauty deserves your time.

Saint Lucia is also home to the world’s only drive-in volcano at the Sulphur Springs Park in Soufrière. This place is home to mud pools and hot springs where you can take a refreshing bath.

On top of these things, I loved attending the cultural festivals in the country. The St. Lucia Jazz Festival is the most notable among all and I am pretty sure that you will definitely want to shake a leg when you hear the beats.

As my love for food has taken me to many different parts of the world, the best thing I remember about Saint Lucia was its chocolate. Not only did I get to eat the best chocolate in the entire world, but I also visited cacao farms. And if you want to go a step ahead, there are local farmers who teach you about the chocolate-making process.

  1. Aruba

You might have heard that good things come in small packages. If you haven’t, then Aruba is the perfect example of this proverb.

Apart from the mesmerizing beauty, the best thing I loved about the country was its small size and easy-to-explore nature. The island is only 70 square miles in size and you can conquer it with a cycle or an e-scooter.

The southern town of San Nicolas is a visual wonder with around forty giant art paintings on beautiful. I have 40 pictures with them and I guarantee you will love them all, even if you aren’t an art fan.

The beaches in Aruba and the activities are also great, just like the other countries as well.

Final Words

There is no denying the fact that Caribbean countries are just like a piece of heaven on earth. I have satisfied my Caribbean craving; it is time for you to do that. Visit Virikson Holidays’ website if you are looking for Dominican Republic holiday packages or Caribbean vacation deals.
